This is a marketing video to Publicis’ customers. They love to make themselves look like evil all-knowing villains in these videos. As scary as Connected Identity sounds (which I do think is a real and scary thing), I highly doubt they would have a level of data insight they had on Lola on 91% of the world’s adults. But I would believe that they have at least 1 piece of data on that many.
On the contrary, I think this is a responsible way to operate. The terms of use apply to the Mozilla distributed binary, not the open source version and open source forks, and I don’t think additional terms shut them out of that. The privacy policy is clear, concise as can be and links so that people can jump directly to what is being collected.
Ooooh nice going! Saved this post because once in a blue moon I come up with short jingles, and I’ve been wanting a software that can record MIDI stuff without lag.
They were not liked at first, but they’ve spent enough time making money while not pissing people off that they are doing far better than every public company who must find a reason to piss people off to be more profitable.
They’ve been able to use that time to “cook”. Valve time has been known to be within its own dimension, but from that we got Linux to be just click start and play for 90% of games like Windows, and with the Steamdeck a powerful, comfortable, DIY-able handheld PC gaming device.
And here I am waiting for Sup to be released by an adrenaline-filled code-junkie from Grand Prairie, Alberta…
It has to be something that is nearly fully outside your control but is affecting you, there are probably milder problems as examples but I think this apt.
In the metaphor, half of the answers are asking you to do a useless workaround, blame you and/or are irrelevant to solving the problem. Hence the leak, where the answers are telling you to try running your taps for 10 minutes, put a bucket under the leak, telling you that there is no leak and that’s actually a water fountain, etc.
I do worry about putting up public servers that other people might rely on because there’s something I might not realize making it vulnerable.
So far I have pubkey root login only on the VPSs I’m messing around with, but my ol’ reliable private key from 6 years ago might be beginning to fall behind on encryption standards.
Well it is more like your ceiling is leaking from the apartment above and your landlord ain’t doing shit. Installing Linux would be like moving out to another apartment or home. Even if it doesn’t fix the leak the problem is now gone for you.
I never claimed it’s FOSS, license is to be included by the creator. If it is part of the same project as the backend, it may be GNU AGPL-3.
If that’s not satisfactory, let me know and I will put (Source Available) in the title.
He is a very busy man at the moment, as you can probably imagine. But yes we should make sure the license is included in the coming days to make it truly free. He still has yet to add documentation, but said on Mastodon that is coming soon.
It’s Lisa looking at a sign that reads:
“Keep Out”
“Or Enter. I’m a sign, not a cop.”
Trust in Meta cratering to new lows, TikTok being banned.
I totally get wanting to be on a bandwagon, I think this is the perfect time to get onto PixelFed but to go to (Little) RedNote instead? Could they make China’s effective ownership of the platform any more obvious?
Ooh nice method! For extra cheapness/laziness, does it also work just holding it against a hot 3d printer nozzle?
If Elon can go fsck
himself that would be great. I sense a systematic lack of integrity from him.
Yeah I was trying to summarize in a word how the linked comment used it, the developer was not talking badly of trans people per se, but was critical of how their group and the cause to express their identity is being misused by the ruling class. I imply that it could be transphobia, but I’m not certain if it is, even if I understand why it would be an upsetting and hurtful take for some. If there’s a better way to describe this succinctly with a more respectful framing, I’m open to alternatives.
Is the pinkwashing part when I use this opinion as an example of questioning transgenderism? I don’t personally have a problem with the opinion highlighted, but again I do not speak for everyone, and I understand not everyone would agree. The point of using this example is not about the opinion itself but what that disagreement should extend to.
Can you elaborate on what you mean by my pinkwashing attempt?
note: I clarified my previous comment that was missing a word.
Precisely. And this is much in the same way coming from the CEO and Proton official accounts. Republicans use Proton, just as much as Democrats. Until I see evidence that Andy Yen’s misguided philosophy leaks into Proton’s offering itself (and not just their PR channels), I’m willing to give benefit of doubt. Part of it seems to be not wanting to get on the wrong side of their leaders. As a reminder, these are the leaders that have been given a blank cheque from both voters and the justice system to do whatever they please with dissidents.
News that probably surprises nobody here on Lemmy.
